This session offers an introduction to Building Thinking Classrooms with a focus on Toolkit 1, emphasizing the first three practices: thinking tasks, randomized groups, and vertical non-permanent surfaces (VNPS). Participants will explore how these foundational strategies can be integrated to spark student engagement and promote deep mathematical thinking. Educators will leave with practical tools to begin transforming their classrooms into dynamic spaces where all students are empowered to think, talk, and learn together.
