Change The Story

Our mission is to change traditional mindsets and support teachers by using research-based instructional practices to engage students as active participants in a thinking, student-centered classroom. Let us help transform classrooms so that each day is better than the day before. If we teach the way we always have, we will continue to get the same results. As educators, we must #ChangeTheStory for our students.

The New Better

Pandemic teaching changed what instruction looked like. How are we applying what we learned to redesign our classrooms to focus on the diverse needs of our students? Let’s examine different structures that support creating a mathematics community where all students see themselves as successful. This isn’t the new normal, it’s the “new better”. Let’s begin to #ChangeTheStory!

Math Workshop

How can we ‘change the story’ for students who have unfinished learning and math anxiety? Math workshop allows teachers to differentiate and creates an environment where students feel less anxious, take risks, and engage in discourse. Let’s explore how moving to a workshop model is best for everyone by changing what math classrooms look like.

Everyone is a Science Person

Dive into ‘Everyone is a Science Person,’ where we champion student-centered teaching and learning practices that empower students to communicate, collaborate, and think critically. Explore the transformative impact of science practices such as modeling, interpreting, and analyzing data, and arguing from evidence. Unleash the potential of your classroom to foster a dynamic environment where students actively engage and thrive. Let’s inspire a new generation of confident and capable thinkers so Everyone is a Science Person.

I contacted Skip Tyler and CTLG because we were facing a lot of challenges with our students coming out of the pandemic. We were concerned about the students background knowledge and their ability to solve problems at a higher level. Skip listened to our concerns and embedded our needs into each session and followed up with support to ensure our teachers were successful. Our teachers were able to quickly apply what they learned to their classroom and we are seeing positive changes in instruction and student learning.
