
Stephanie Stockman
Stephanie Stockman is the Division World Languages Education Specialist with Henrico County Public Schools in Virginia. She supports and guides 125 World Languages teachers to design and deliver innovative lessons to promote growth in students’ proficiency in their language of study. Stephanie facilitated, collaborated, and planned Henrico’s first Dual Language Spanish Immersion program that launched in August 2021 at Elizabeth Holladay Elementary School. That inaugural cohort is now in 4th grade.
Her classroom teaching experience spans grades 6-12; and includes three International Baccalaureate schools. During her time in the classroom, she frequently led student groups abroad for them to experience the culture and expand their language of study. She was Henrico County’s First-year Teacher of the Year in 1996 and Hanover High School’s Teacher of the Year in 2009. At the 2024 NADSFL Conference in Philadelphia, PA she was named as the National World Languages Supervisor of the Year.
Stephanie received her Masters in Curriculum & Instruction as well as her Administration & Supervision degree from the University of Richmond. She attended the University of Valencia in Spain while completing her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is the President of Virginia’s Organization for World Languages Supervisors. She serves on the annual conference planning board for VATLL, is a member of ACTFL and NADSFL, and a thirty-year member of FLAVA; Virginia’s professional association for World Languages. She has presented at numerous local, state, and national conferences. Stephanie received her certification as a National Board Certified Teacher and is a Fulbright Scholar. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, photography, and cooking.
