Sallie Havey has 18 years of experience in education, having worked as an elementary classroom teacher, a building level math specialist, and currently serving as a division math coach for Henrico County Public Schools.  Sallie is involved in the mathematics community at the local, state and national level. She has served on several committees for the VDOE, most recently including transitioning to the 2023 Mathematics Standards. Sallie is passionate about teacher clarity around mathematics, using a concrete-representational-abstract approach to teaching and learning, and supporting Math Workshop through rich tasks and engaging learning experiences.
