Meryl Butler

Meryl Butler brings nearly two decades of expertise in education as a teacher, curriculum specialist, and professional development leader. She is the K-5 Division Science Coach for Henrico County Public Schools, where she collaborates with educators to implement evidence-based practices and foster student success in science. She is also currently an adjunct professor at Randolph-Macon College, where she teaches elementary science methods, emphasizing inquiry-based learning, the 5E model, and strategies from Visible Learning for Science.

Meryl designs professional learning on topics like student engagement, science vocabulary, and data-driven instruction. She mentors preservice and new teachers, guiding them in lesson planning, classroom management, and building relationships.

Passionate about hands-on, inquiry-driven science, Meryl empowers teachers to create dynamic, inclusive learning experiences. In her free time, she volunteers with the Lakeside Rescue Squad, enjoys adventures, and values time with family and friends.
