Lynn Smith

Lynn Smith recently retired from public education, with 37 years of experience as a special education teacher, reading specialist, literacy coach, and in division and school-level administrator positions. She served as an educational specialist for ELA at the elementary and K-12 level, and then served in an elementary school as an associate principal. Retirement allowed Lynn to return to her true love, teaching. Lynn is currently a 6th grade English teacher at The New Community School, an independent school for students with dyslexia and other neurodiversities. Lynn has a passion for helping students see themselves and their world through books. She inspires writers through the use of mentor text and showing students the power of their words and the value of their stories.
