Asmahan Jackson has more than 15 years of experience in education, having worked as an elementary and middle school classroom teacher, a building level Title I math specialist, and an Elementary Assistant Principal. She currently works as an Administrative Math Coordinator for Elementary Mathematics for Prince William County Public Schools.  Asmahan is involved in the mathematics community at the local, state and national level.  She serves as conference co-chair of the Battlefields of Northern Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics and has served on several committees for the VDOE.   Asmahan is passionate about student engagement in mathematics through the use of hands-on manipulatives, classroom discourse, and performance tasks. She enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
