I contacted Skip Tyler and CTLG when we wanted to increase the capacity of our math teachers in the areas of reasoning routines and using data to create targeted learning stations. During the session, Skip used our school’s report card data and actual problems and content in which our students struggled. Teachers were able to learn with real classroom data. The impact on teachers was immediate; evidenced by the discussions in our PLC meetings that week. With data, routines, and ideas in hand, teachers felt empowered to create target remediation and learning stations to meet the needs of their diverse learners. We have already reserved our fall date and teachers are excited to attend and prepare for a new year.
